With the competition as fierce
as ever for this prestigious award, it was a surprise that one of our
overseas stars failed to perform on day 1. With 6 blobs the prize for the
1st winner of this years Orange jacket (and all that goes with it) was
Cyril with 19 points. He just beat last years winner Paddy & this
years virgin Griff by 1 point. |

After a promising start on
day 1 with a top 7 finish, 1 curry to many on the Tuesday night put paid
to his chances on these old links. He was seen double checking
everyone's card as he knew he would struggle in both coat and hat. With
only 23points he claimed the prize on day 2. |

A surprise to many that today's
winner had taken so long to claim the prize he likes to call his own.
With a small amount of confusion at the handing over ceremony it was
nearly snatched away from him by DavieG who had scored 25 points, but in
the end it was decided Rex's 22points deserved the prize. Nice try
lads!!! |

The final day is always the
day to avoid winning this award - not only do you have to wear it during
pub golf (which could be a good thing for some) but you also wear it on
day 1 next year. The winner today was a little unlucky as he came in 2nd
to last, but as the tour rules state (only once a year), he'd beaten
Rosc by 1 point with 22 points in total. Great photo Pete. |
