WINNERS
Day 1 was our only links course of the week, even though it was only a 20 minute drive from the hotel, we had to go over the Isle of Purbeck ferry, which caused a great deal of panic by Brew, but he was calmed down by Sammy who told him where the black box is stored and "they always find that" - Poor old Brew!!
Edge voted himself back in as Chairman, he has aspirations of becoming President one day - bless!! He introduced the Virgins to all of the usual betting scams that go on, with the lost ball count choices causing a lot of amusement when Mike said 14 for the week. 34 were lost on day 1!! - Bad luck Mike. We had 2 surprise guests turn up both were very welcome, a regular tourist Big Mark & a return after 8 years by 'Pick up Packo', both just to play the 1 day.
The Isle of Purbeck provided the toughest course of the week with the ccs only 26. This didn't help with Pick up starting with 2 in his first 2 holes. There were 43 blobs with only 13 playing, the only course where everyone had a blob. Some things never change on tour 1 of which is Andy Widd winning a day, a steady 34 points claimed him his 8th daily win. Brew in his first society round claimed the 'orange jacket' by 1 point from Wils - we were all gutted!!!

Day 2 was another glorious day weather wise, we do seem to be very lucky tourists. We arrived at the wonderful course Brockenhurst Manor, most cars 45 minutes before one in particular!! With only 11 players we decided as a group to have two 4 balls and one 3 ball. Even though the newly re-appointed Chairman thought we'd have to have three 3 balls and one 2 balls!!! We had a very late tee off 2pm which was unusual, but something happened for the first time in 38 rounds of tour golf - Davie G came out on top. With only 6 points in his last 5 holes, he thought he'd thrown it away. But an excellent 39 points gave him a comfortable victory. Robin Davis won his 2nd 'nearest the pin' of the week. With Neil winning the 'Longest drive'. Daz was in the frame again and is looking very consistent. Unfortunately somebody has to come last and perhaps thoughts of a future society President campaign took his mind off the golf, Edge claimed the 'Orange jacket'. 11 players 30blobs.

Day 3 was at Dudsbury golf club, not the favourite course of the week, but the weather was great again. We were joined by 4 new golfers, two more virgins! We had 15 golfers and had 33 blobs Some very steady play by one of the new players on the day Tony English saw him claim his first daily win on his first day on tour, he had been cut 2 shots before the start so he played very well. He won the day on count back from Wocko who nearly claimed his first daily win after 23 rounds. The 'Orange jacket' was a shock with the first single figure golfer claiming this prize. (We don't count Paffer as a single figure golfer!) Sammy a virgin on tour struggled to 20 points. Our lowest handicap of the week D.Mac won the 'Nearest the Pin' With Grubby winning the longest drive again.

Day 4 was at the glorious Ferndown golf club, an open championship qualifier. The groups were set in order with the leaders out last. Daz had a 4 point lead from Mike, 6 from Andy Widd, from 8 from Robin Davis - who sadly had to withdraw due to a back injury. The course was in great condition and suited our gentle giant. Wils was right on top of his game, as he'd had a a couple of bets with his roomy Brew 1) who was the most attractive and 2) who would win overall. As he'd lost the first one he was determined to win on the golf course. He came in with the highest round of the week with 40 points. The leading group were struggling as they'd become a 3 ball, Daz in particular couldn't get anything going. As it turned out the winner came from the penultimate group for only the second time in 10 years. Rob Perrins with a very steady 36 points was enough to pip Mike who'd had a very consistent week scoring 30 points today, missing out on a play off by 1 point. Daz sadly struggled throughout and came home with 22 points to claim his 4th 'Orange jacket'. Mike won nearest the pin and Daz the longest drive. With 14 golfers today there were 29 blobs.

A grand total of 135 blobs from 53 rounds of golf with an all time low of only 71 lost balls.
Congratulations to Rob Perrins and all the tourists another great tour
