WINNERS
WESTON-SUPER-MARE
This year's tour started at the course in the same town as the B+B, Edge still had us at the course 2 & a half hours early. it was the smallest group ever on tour with only 9 players, this did include 1 new 'full' tourist in Neil - he also raised the level of golf to the tour being the lowest handicap of 5. On arrival we watched as the rain came down, wondering if this year was going to be our unlucky year. Fortunately by the time we started it had cleared. We did have some fairly strong winds, but this added to the test on this very pleasant links course. One strange part was the 2 holes played having walked through a caravan park, but as was said 'better than having a 16 hole course' The golf was won on the day by one of the regular winners Badger. He had 16 points on the front 9 (which was the average) but blew everyone away with 22 coming back. There were also good rounds by Tenko and Andy Widd ( The Handicap Committee - looking dangerous). Predictably Neil won the longest drive, Little D easily claimed the orange jacket by 5 points. There were a total of 21 blobs.

ORCHARDLEIGH
A very enjoyable course was the general feeling of the party after playing. We had 2 new members of the tour today Blucky & Cairns. This course was a parkland course in a very good condition, the standard was alot higher as the css 35.6 showed. Another regular winner put together one of the best rounds ever on tour 43 points for Andy Widd on a par 72 Andy scored 76 playing off 11 a superb round of golf. Wils put together a solid round to claim 2nd and Daz playing off his more favourable handicap (13) came 3rd. The 2 newcomers both claimed prizes, Lea took Neil's mantel as the biggest hitter and Cairns (having been controversially cut to 24 from 28 by Edge before play started) scored a creditable 24 to win the orange jacket. There were only 16 blobs here.

MANOR HOUSE
Three more past regular members arrived today, Paddy, Wocko & Paffer. Poor old Pinky half way down he broke down on the motorway, 2nd year running a nearly man - maybe next year!! Another parkland course that we were to use buggies on - all but 1 person who decided to walk, ironically he had the shortest legs and it was by far the longest golf course walk we've ever had - bless him. Without doubt there were some splendid holes on the course with the par 3 17th one of the most picturesque holes in the world (Edge said so!). The big disappointment was the weather for the last hour or so we had our worst ever rain. This didn't worry the eventual winner today as Tenko was last out so had the most rain but still put together a steady round to claim victory on the count back from Willie & Badge. The longest drive was not played for the first time on tour ( I think Edge needs to look at himself!) Having played so well yesterday Wils suddenly thought he was a golfer again ( he should remember having lost to Edge he'll only ever be a fisherman), he won the orange jacket by default as 2 players below him Daz and Cairns had already won it. There were a massive 52 blobs today.

BURNHAM & BERROW
Sadly we had to lose Cairns for todays round, because most of the party would have loved to have watched him play this great course in these extremely windy and difficult conditions. We had 2 more new tourists Kev Truby & Steve Matthews - both very welcome to the tour. We have always said that we'd like to try a links course in windy conditions, but maybe not quite this windy. Wocko & Andy Widd struggled so much on the front 9 into the wind they only scored 5 & 6 points respectively. On the back 9 they mastered the 'knock-down shot to both come in with respectable scores. Paddy who always seems to do well on links courses came in with 27 points (19 on the back 9) to win the day, this was the lowest ever winning total, but played in the hardest conditions we've played in. Newby Kev Truby came 2nd 1 point behind. Bluck's power struggled in the wind and he won the Orange jacket. The conditions helped to create 73 blobs.
The overall competition was in Andy Widd's hands & he started very well 6 points in the first 3 holes equalling Tenk & Badge. Tenk had pulled to within 2 points at the turn but Andy showed how much he wanted to shake off the 'Nearly man' tag he was level par after 4 holes on the back 9. With that it became a very relaxed victory run home, by the time he came to the last green he had a 6 shot lead.
